A trail of marathon distance. View of countless Alpine glaciers - technically very demanding. The start takes place at about 2000 meters above sea level in Obergurgl. To warm up the participants run towards the lower valley on the first two kilometers, covering some 700 challenging altitude meters. Once there, they should take a minute to indulge in the fantastic panoramic views of the Ötztal and Stubai Alps. At about 2500 m above sea level the route leads on a beautiful trail back along the valley to the next refreshment station (Küppelehütte) before the runners continue steeply uphill to the highest point of the race - Ramolhaus above 3000 m altitude. This an intermediate time measuring spot. Then the runners have to conquer a technically demanding downhill stretch to Piccard Bridge where another breathtaking panorama of Ötztal's glacier world awaits them. They continue along Schwärzenkamm towards Langtalereckhütte, before they take the forest road to Schönwieshütte on the next kilometers of the race. After the next refreshment station, they will reach beautiful Rotmoostal side valley, continuing uphill towards Hohe Mut Alm. Once arrived at 2670 m altitude, it's time to enjoy the panorama before a steep downhill stretch leads to the Gaisbergtal fork-off towards Festkogl. Commanding all the courage, the route leads via Verwalltal and Königstal side valleys to the last downhill stretch across the picturesque stone pine forest in the direction of Obergurgl. On the last 2 km the participants enjoy the cheering crowds of spectators until they reach the finish area.
