View of myriad Alpine glaciers – technically very demanding. With myriad majestic glaciers in view, the participants run from Obergurgl's village center in the direction of Königstal towards Hochgurgl. From there they continue into Timmelstal side valley and Lenzen Alm (VP1), followed by an exhausting climb to lake Nedersee. At approx. 2500 m above sea level, the route covers beautiful trail back into the valley to the second refreshment station (Küppelehütte) before it climbs steeply to the highest point of the race, scenic Ramolhaus towering at over 3000 m above sea level. This an intermediate time measuring spot. Then the participants follow a technically very demanding downhill stretch to Piccard Bridge offering breathtaking panoramic views of Ötztal's glacier world. Continuing over Schwärzenkamm to Langtalereckhütte, the runners tackle the next few kilometers of the race on a forest trail until they reach Schönwieshütte. After the next refreshment station, they reach beautiful Rotmoostal side valley, continuing up to Hohe Mut Alm. Once arrived at 2636 m altitude, it's time to enjoy the panorama before a steep downhill stretch leads to the Gaisbergtal fork-off towards Festkogl. Here you have to go to your limits once more before you reach the finish line in Obergurgl via Verwalltal and Königstal side valleys.
