Alpine ARTtime

23 July to 15 August 2022

“The mountains are not a backdrop, but a motif”, this approach by Gurgl artist Hannah Philomena Scheiber is at the core of the Alpine ARTtime. From 23 July to 15 August, renowned artists with roots in the Ötztal present their work. In addition to the exhibition in the Gurgl Carat, different workshops such as painting or hand-lettering offer the opportunity to become artistically active. The required know-how is provided by the artists themselves. Let yourself by inspired by impressive art and an imposing view of the mountains at an altitude of almost 2,000m in Gurgl.

Alexander Maria Lohmann

With the world-renowned artist Alexander Maria Lohmann from Gurgl, we go into nature. We stop after exactly twelve minutes to show that it’s not only the motif that counts, but the perspective. The pictures taken are then staged in the Gurgl Carat studio.

 

When: 25 July, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Where: Starting point is the Gurgl Carat; from there we go by foot into nature. Takes place in any weather.
Total time: 3 hrs.

Hannah Philomena Scheiber

Iin this course, you learn how to create landscape pictures without a brush in a playful and intuitive way.

 

When: 26 July, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Where: Gurgl Carat studio. Exclusively indoors.
Total time: 3 hrs.
Requirements/equipment: no prior knowledge required; it is best to wear old clothes. If you want to have specific canvas size, please bring it to the course.  The artist will provide smaller-sized canvases (max. 50 x 80).

Hannah Philomena Scheiber

Get your grandma’s cups out of the cupboard – now it’s time to print.  Create unique vintage items YOURSELF! We print your vintage pieces by screen printing transfer. You can choose from four different fonts. Your favourite pieces are then baked and are even dishwasher safe.

Jessie Pitt

In a unique setting, the renowned Australian artist will introduce you to the topic of “landscape painting”. It is the aim of this intensive course to create a process-oriented work of art from start to finish. On the first day, we go into the nature of Gurgl. We look, search for motifs, find inspiration, work out ideas in sketch. On the second day, Jessie Pitt teaches techniques for realisation. On the third and fourth day we work on the canvas in the studio.

 

When: 28 July – 31 July, daily from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Where: outdoors & Gurgl Carat studio
Total time: 4 days á 8 hrs.
Requirements/equipment: no prior knowledge required; wear clothes that can get dirty. What to bring: lift pass for day one, mobile phone camera, various pencils, acrylic paint white/grey/sepia/blue, charcoal pencils, brushes, sketchbook, canvas in your desired format.

Katharina Roi

Learn the basics of hand-lettering with the Tyrol’s hand-lettering star Katharina Roi and create individual, handmade unique pieces. Immerse yourself in the colourful world of letters, try out different pens and get to know the material. Katharina shows you the basics of hand-lettering and together with the participants she creates pictures and cards.

Nadja Parisi

During the singing bowl journey, you can immerse yourself in your world of inner pictures. Coloured tones of the crystal singing bowls and chimes fill the room and envelop you, giving you the opportunity to send your mind on a journey and into relaxation. Nadja Parisi is a Tyrolean art therapist and certified yoga instructor.
