Long-distance hiking in Gurgl

The purpose of hiking is to be on the move

Whether as a starting point or as a stage stop which restores your body and mind again overnight: Gurgl enjoys an excellent reputation among long-distance hikers. The easy Ötztaler Urweg can be found here as well as the Ötztal Trek of intermediate difficulty, both of which circle the Ötztal valley at different altitudes. The queen's stage of the E5 European long-distance hiking trail also starts in Obergurgl and climbs up to Timmelsjoch Pass and the state border to South Tyrol.
