112 is the European emergency number that can be used free of charge in all EU countries. This number can be dialed from a landline or cell phone to notify the rescue service, fire department or police.

A Euro emergency call can be dialed from any phone. Calls will be connected to the nearest security control centre (except Germany).

Tips in case of bad reception:
- Switch off your cell phone - and switch it on again immediately
- Instead of the PIN code, enter the number 112. The cell phone automatically searches for the mobile network with the best reception and connects the nearest security control centre.
