Short but intense road cycling route with an average gradient of 11 percent to the ski resort Hochsölden at 2090 m altitude. The very well-developed road to Hochsölden is little frequented, so you can really enjoy the climb. Hochsölden impresses with its magnificent location amid nature with breathtaking views.
Hochsölden can be seen as the little brother of the Ötztal Glacier Road to the Rettenbach or Tiefenbach Glacier, as the path to this small winter sports resort above Sölden branches off from the Glacier Road in the lower third. While there is quite some activity here in winter, the place is on standby during summer. The local hotels are closed, but at the end of the village, after an extremely steep ramp, there is the mountain restaurant Sonnblick. Soak up the sun in this dream location away from the bustle and hectic pace on the terrace, with a magnificent view of the Sölden valley basin and the surrounding three-thousand-meter peaks. Even during the ascent you occasionally get a view down to Sölden.
P.S. The construction of the first chairlift in the Ötztal took place in 1948 from Sölden to Hochsölden.
