Training area of Ski Stars

Hand in hand towards ambitious goals

Gurgl has really everything ski and snowboard pros need before, during and after the racing season: snow in abundance from November to April, perfectly groomed training tracks and a sense of life to always strive for your best. Currently, the logo of the ski destination is emblazoned on the cap and helmet of Dave Ryding - anchoring itself in the minds of their international fan community.

Dave Ryding – A lucky find

World Cup victory | Hahnenkamm Kitzbühel (22.01.2022)

A real crown jewel for Gurgl: slalom ace Dave Ryding is now heading towards the Olympics with a historic triumph in Kitzbühel! Frenetic euphoria instead of understatement: the victory of British ski ace Dave Ryding in the cult race on Kitzbühel's Ganslernhang triggered a wave of jubilation. The crowd of well-wishers includes international sports colleagues such as US star Mikaela Shiffrin as well as high-ranking voices from his home country. Thanks to his recent triumph, the British Empire has finally joined the ranks of international ski nations. The gold medal was also heavily celebrated in Gurgl. Since 2017, "The Diamond of the Alps" has supported the British athlete as head sponsor.

The British ski racer aka "Rocket Ryding" has made it to the World Cup podium from England's plastic slopes. Since the 2017/18 winter season, the slalom ace is under the patronage of the "Diamond of the Alps". The likeable athlete can take full advantage of a professional training environment in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl, just perfect to prepare for the season, to do extensive material tests and, of course, to relax. At least since his 2nd place in the legendary Kitzbühel Slalom in January 2017, Ryding has been regarded as an exceptional athlete who perfectly represents the "snow competence" of Gurgl to his ski-loving compatriots at home in the UK. And the success continued already in the very first winter of the sponsor partnership: Ryding finished 5 World Cup Slaloms in the Top 10 - the Olympic Slalom in Pyeong Chang included. We keep our fingers crossed for the upcoming Olympic Games in Bejing. Good luck!
