Glacier trailrun Obergurgl-HochgurglPhoto: Ötztal
A trail at half marathon distance. Dream scenery, beautiful trails – technically demanding
The start is at just under 2,000m above sea level in Obergurgl. Participants have little time to warm up, as it goes immediately for about 8 km and 700m altitude gain to the highest point of the race. At the Ramolhaus at over 3,000m, the intermediate time is taken, and the route leads via a technically very demanding downhill to the Piccard Bridge, where a breathtaking panorama of the Ötztal glacier world opens up. Further over the Schwärzenkamm to the Langtalereck Hut, the runners take on the last 12 km of the race on the forest road to the Schönwies Hut. After a refreshment, the route runs into the beautiful Rotmoostal, where participants are accompanied by the fantastic natural spectacle of the Hohe Mut Alm. Arriving at 2,636m, a steep downhill leads to the Gaisbergtal junction towards Obergurgl. For the last 2 km, the runners enjoy the cheers of the spectators until the finish.
