Description

We start our adventure and take the Hohe Mut cable car to the Hohe Mut Sattel and hike into the wild Gaisbergtal valley. Together we look for the best route through the lunar landscape that has developed since the end of the Little Ice Age and the retreat of the glacier. Once we reach the glacier tongue, we mount our crampons, form a rope team and follow the ice flow of the Gaisbergferner, an alpine valley glacier, upwards. Your mountain guide will introduce you to the techniques of moving on the eternal ice and, if you wish, you can even explore the inside of the glacier by abseiling into a crevasse. Glacier ice is alive. It is not a dead mass, it moves, makes noises and has character. A glacier is not just gray and white - but see for yourself!

Included services: guided crevasse tour | supervision and guidance by a certified mountain guide.
Rental equipment: climbing harness | crampons | helmet (can be rented from the mountain guide).

Price: € 54.00 | + € 5.00 per piece of safety equipment

Our recommendation: Book the mountain breakfast at 06:30 am at the Hohe Mut Alm at the end of the booking process. All 5 senses are stimulated here: you feel the first rays of sunshine on your skin, see the mountain panorama in the morning light, smell the fresh mountain air, listen to the peace and quiet and taste the regional cuisine.
If you book the mountain breakfast, the mountain guide will pick you up at the Hohe Mut Alm at around 09:15.
